Student Pledge ofCompassion©

High School Version

My pledge to you, my classmates, my friends, is simple yet powerful in the message it sends. This circle that stands with our lives in its hands will grow stronger with each day that ends as we promise each other to accept one another no matter the style or trend.

One thing out of fashion it seems is compassion and this we must all want to end. Restore love and kindness, ties that can bind us and work as a whole to mend the hurts of another, caused by each other so all of this killing will end.

As I and Me become US and WE our hearts will open and allow us to see we're in this together, beginning to end. From this day forward call everyone "Friend."

My commitment to this you'll know by the strength and force of my hold. By my courage and fight to silence the inner voice that encourages violence.

As the hands of this circle now part, the grip will remain in our hearts. To hold us within its bond for today, tomorrow and beyond.

These pledges are designed to be recited as students form a circle by holding hands. By voicing these words of kindness and tolerance each day, students bond for a few moments. It is our hope and goal that this bond forms for life.

Ask your school if the entire student body can become involved by reciting these Pledges at the start of each school day.
